About Lucy (she/her)

Lucy is an LGBTQIA+ inclusive photographer and filmmaker based in Essex, UK.

She currently works for Wysing Arts Centre, where she leads on the charity’s marketing and audience development. This involves planning and writing copy for social media campaigns, paid online advertising and taking photography of residency artists and commissions.

She has previously worked for Firstsite art gallery, where she produced short documentary films, photography and Instagram Reels of each major exhibition.

Lucy is a keen activist for transgender rights and has written for Metro’s ‘Pride and Joy’ column and Mermaids Gender for Transgender Awareness Week. She has also been featured in a campaign film for charity Mermaids Gender and has produced both a feature film ‘Pronouns in Bio’, and a short film ‘A Tight, Warm Hug’, documenting her transition.

Lucy has a Degree in Digital Film Production (2:1) from the University of Suffolk and an Art Foundation Diploma from Colchester Institute, where she specialised in documentary filmmaking, earning her a Distinction.

Both of her films have won numerous awards and have been screened at film festivals in Brighton, Norwich and London in the UK, as well as Atlanta, Seattle and Colorado in the United States.

Lucy was a member of Film Production and Digital Agency Mediorite’s Youth Board from 2021 to 2023.
